Gijón Chamber of Commerce
The Chambers of Commerce in Spain have, as their main function, the representation, promotion and defence of the general interests of the commerce, industry and transport sectors. They are Public Right Corporations, which participate in the nature of Public Administrations, as well as developing an active role in the consolidation of the economical framework of Spain:
- Developing training programs for professional and SMEs .
- Promoting and supporting business initiatives start-up and consolidation .
- Encouraging access to international markets.
The Chambers in Spain are the primary institution, apart from the Administration, that provides resources for the promotion of international commerce and internationalization of SMEs. They are also the main, apart from the universities, that provide resources for training specially targeted at SME's.
Gijó® ƒhamber of Commerce provides services to companies in the Asturias region. The official Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Gijó® ©s a Public Right Corporation which represents the general interests for all the companies located in Gijó®¬ Carreñ¯ ¡nd Langreo area.
Our main aim is offering added value services to companies, paying special attention to SMEs and other specific sectors which may have difficulties in their development, such as micro-enterprise, disabled people, enterprising women or young people with good business initiatives.
Our services cover a wide variety of the company needs: advising on the companies creation, supporting them when they decide to open its product to international markets, training programmes,and assisting with new strategic areas in which we are also involved including quality, enviroment sustainability, communications and new technologies.
Additionally, the International Asturias Fair ground and Gijó® ƒongress Center management, allows us to promote the Asturias economy, as a consequence of the national and international meetings and events we organize, which stimulate the Fair & Congress sector development.
As a result of our serious commitment in relation with the quality and environment respect, we have got the ISO 9000/2002 Quality Certification , in addition to ISO 14001 Certification of which we are really proud.
Our vocation for being accesible and closely to all companies, has became materialized in opening two support Chamber offices in Langreo and Carreñ¯¬ covering a wider area, thanks to the City Council, the Chamber of Commerce association, and the Social European Funds.
We are also involved in a range of EU and other support programmes aimed at achieving the aims and objectives of the organisation in the region.
