WESTBIC, the Business & Innovation Centre in the Border, Midland & Western region of Ireland, is an ISO 9001:2000 accredited organisation providing tailored support to innovative enterprise through the initial stages from concept to commercialisation and post-launch stages.
Established in 1987, WESTBIC is a specialist provider in the Government's portfolio of supports to indigenous industry, supported under the Productive Sector O.P of the National Development Plan 2000-2006.
WESTBIC operates from its regional offices located in Roscommon, Galway, Kilcar, Letterkenny, Mayo, Sligo, Tuam and the Midlands, providing direct on-the-ground support to entrepreneurs, enterprises, other support organisations, intermediaries and community groups.

A diverse range of development services are provided to core projects, intermediaries and community projects which can be categorised as follows:
- Support for core clients (start-up and early stage enterprise) including training, feasibility study assistance, market research and marketing planning, business planning, business development advice/ counseling and sourcing of finance.
- Technical assistance to intermediaries in the region, including action planning, programme identification, implementation and evaluation.
- Tailored training services including entrepreneurial training, business planning and community development modules.
- Delivery of enterprise-led EU projects aimed at improving the performance and competitiveness of companies in the region.

WESTBIC has considerable cross-sector experience at the start-up and early stage development of value added enterprise. Our extensive client base embraces a range of industry sectors with clients specialising in manufacturing, knowledge-based industries, tourism, crafts & textiles, internationally traded services, communications food, technology and aquaculture.
WESTBIC-assisted companies represent a survival rate of over 90% based on sound business planning, effective private sector networks, and timely inputs in areas such as product development, marketing information, counselling, seed capital and brokering. Our multi-skilled team and talent pool of experts provide assistance for developing businesses to reach targeted growth objectives.
